Serves: 5 – 6
Ingredients:
Chicken (cleaned & washed) – 1 kg
Small onions (chopped) – 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Pepper powder – 3 tsp
Butter – 100 g
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Cocanut (Grinded) – 5 tsp
Cinnamon – 2 small pieces
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Cardamom – 2
Curry leaves – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Oil – 3 tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Heat butter in a sauce pan & add all the spices to it. Then add onion to the pan & saute it until it turns light brown in colour.
2. Add the chicken, salt & ginger garlic paste to the pan, saute it and allow it to get cooked for 10 mins.
3. Then add turmeric, chilli, coriander powder & mix well. After 6 – 8 mins pour 3 cups of water, some salt & stir well.
4. Now close the sauce pan with lid for about 30 mins. After 30 mins add grinder cocanut, pepper powder to the pan & stir well.
5. Then allow it to boil for 6 mins. Then in medium heat allow the gravy to dry well.
6. Now Chicken Gravy is ready. Serve it with cooked rice.
